League leaders, Ryde CC Youth, compiled a record score of 206-1 against a hapless Binstead Royals team. In a high-scoring match Bembridge chased down 146 to beat Wootton by 3 wickets. A fine opening partnership between Ben Self (34*) and Steve Sprake (33*) had enabled Wootton to set Bembridge a challenging target. Lee Thompson, with a match-winning innings of 49 not out and Karl Lacey responded in positive fashion and Bembridge reached the target with an over to spare.

¬†Freshwater’s woes continued as they slumped to a 68 runs defeat to Newport Ale House. Chris Ash, Owain Hooper and Toby Corbin were the main contributors to the Ale House’s total of 149-3. Freshwater lost early wickets and never recovered, finishing on 81-5.

In the morning’s remaining match, Young Cavaliers easily brushed aside Arreton. Batting first, they made 140-4. Andy Loudon top-scored with 64 not out and Sam Rockley made 41. Arreton never looked like reaching the target and stuttered to 94 all out in reply.
